High Strength Concrete (HSC) is a concrete that exceeds the strength of normal concrete, typically defined by a compressive strength of 40-50 MPa or more. It is produced using a low water-to-cement ratio and the addition of high-quality materials like supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as silica fume and superplasticizers, which reduce permeability and improve durability. HSC is used in high-rise buildings, long-span bridges, and other structures requiring high load-bearing capacity, resulting in more slender designs and increased usability.
